When it's 40 degrees in January...

...you run. You ditch work, toss on the running clothes you got for Christmas, bundle up your kids, and go run!

January is historically a miserable month in Nebraska, so a rare nice day led to an amazing run with the boys. They had such a great time. And me? I got worked. A.) My ass is out of shape. B.) Pushing 28lbs of babies and a BOB is hard. Especially on a windy day. That thing is a damn sail. It got me really excited about running with them this spring. I have major plans for the three of us.

Also, I think every parent agrees that any activity leading to this is a fantastic idea.
As 2010 winds down, I look back at all the wonderful things that happened. This was hands down the best year of my life. I went from two little raspberry sized embroys to two little perfect, adorable, smart, funny, people in 365 days.

I even managed to run through most of it. Highlights include my 5k at a (giant) 28 weeks pregnant
and a half marathon 11 weeks post babies.
I'm still not running as much as I'd like, but that's okay. Other parts of my life bring me happiness. My marriage is amazing and our kids are perfect. I'm confident my priorities are in the right place.

And speaking of our cutie kids, here's where I display their adorableness and skills. They are very advanced, clearly.

Merry Christmas!

I need a jumperoo

I need a jumperoo. No, not "I need a jumperoo for my kids", I need a jumperoo for ME.

I haven't been blogging because, well, I haven't been running more than a day or two a week. What would I say? Still not running. Boo.

I feel like my lack of running is getting mocked by our boys. Their jumperoo is apparently the greatest thing in the entire world. They can jump in that thing forever. And every time they go, their squeals of happiness are directed at me. "AHAHA! We're doing cardio and you're nooooot!"

(Okay, maybe that's just pure jumperoo happiness.)

I am out of excuses though. The boys are both sleeping through the night, and I'm finally feeling rested for the first time in months. Although it was damn near Siberia outside today, so that needs to improve. I'm committed, but I'm not crazy.

So it begins.
