I went swimming

See, I'm getting back into tri training. I went swimming!
Okay, maybe it wasn't a killer workout, but you'd be surprised how much work it is to run in water and spin around while going weeeeeeeeee! for an hour. The boys slept for almost three hours and I slept for over two when we got home.
In actual working out, I'm getting back into it. We've had a few recent days over my temperature minimum to take the boys out in the BOB. It's the perfect opportunity for them to take a little nap, get some fresh air, and kick my ass. It makes me feel so much faster to run without them on the weekends since that BOB is no joke. I have a whole new respect for people who push strollers in races. Who the hell would want to do that? It's hard!

More details on my first post-babies/no excuses race, but in the mean time--more babies! This was our introduction to snow after a run last week. One was still a little sleepy, but they seemed to enjoy it.

My first morning run!

I did it! I ran in the morning! Weeeeeeeee!

Granted, it took an invite from The Running Buddy and two naps to recover, but I did it! We went 4.8 miles in the very cold and very dark. It felt really good though. My issue has always been getting out the door in the morning. Once I start, I love it, but it's that first step of getting out of your warm jammies that's so hard to do.

I thought I was on a roll and planned to get up and go again today. Nope. Boys were up at 6:00. What I should have done was take them down in the basement with me to do the elliptical. What I did do was set up a pillow wall on the floor and let them roll around while I took a nap on the recliner.

I assume they munched on each other like this for 30 minutes. Although, I have no idea. Mother of the Year, no? I do need to get serious about doing something regularly though. I've got that gross full feeling again, and I'm anxious to feel fit and strong going into the spring. Not sure if I'll race much, but I want to know I'm able.

In nino news, they boys are fantastic. They just turned 6 months. It's insane how fast the time goes. They haven't quite figured out crawling yet, but this one does some adorable yoga and ab planks as he tries.
He doesn't get that he needs to move his arms forward, so he mostly launches himself onto his face. We'll see how many times before he figures it out.
