After an otherwise good doctor appointment this week, I finally got told "no more working out." I probably would have stopped running soon anyway (since my back has been bothering me a bit and carrying 30lbs up front and not taking medicine won't heal it very quickly), but I'm still sad about it.
I know the doctor is right that it's too hot/humid this time of year.
I know I'd lose my marbles on bed rest so it's best not to push my luck.
I know these last few weeks are critical for the boys to get bigger since most twins only make it 36 weeks.
I know, I know, I know, BUT it just sucks when you have the time, motivation, and energy to work out and get told you can't. Maybe it's the fact that I was an only child until I was 6, but I don't like being bossed around. I'm the bossy one, dammit.
The only child thing also makes me a little selfish, so I suppose it's time to get over that, hug a tree, and come to terms that my body is a vessel for the next month. I can run after they're born using my pimp stroller.
Running until almost 33 weeks certainly exceeded my goal, so I'm proud of that. Being active has helped keep me sane, healthy, happy, and relatively normal-sized. So long as your doctor approves, I will always be an advocate of doing as much as you feel you can throughout your pregnancy. Who knows what I'll blog about, but ice cream seems like a good place to start.
Granted, I have no intention of spiraling into a garbage-consuming sloth for the next month, but I will be having a DQ Oreo Blizzard this weekend for the first time in years.
Because my babies apparently need it.
