Leprechauns Chasing 10k

First race of 2011-- done! The weather was pretty chilly, but I'm really glad I did it. Even more so that I got to run it with my two pals. (We made this one take the picture. Oh, we also made him drive.) I originaly had these big plan to PR this beeath. Since my one and only 10k was ten weeks post-twins, I figured, how hard could it be? Turns out, running five days a week makes you faster than going two days a week. Man, I miss maternity leave.

Anyway, Razz astutely pointed out that it's a F*CKING LEPRECHAUN CHASE, so wacky socks were purchased, and I had no problem shifting to "run for fun" mode. The race was set up that the women were given a five minute head start. If a women won, free green beer to the ladies. Guy wins, green beer for them. Wacky socks on 90% of the participants.

The race started and ended inside a huge airplane hangar at the Strategic Air Command museum. It was pretty amazing to hear the national anthem and see the massive doors open to the freezing March afternoon. It was sunny and calm, but still pretty cold. The course wound through a state park with just the perfect amount of hills. Fantastic race, and a (super bitty) speedy chick won!

On the nino front, life could not be better. They're eight months now, and crawling all over the place. Including around the house and through anything that happens to be in their way. Especially each other. Twins are the best.
